EMC VNX 5600, Cisco UCS, Citrix upgrade to 7.6, and changing Citrix Hypervisor

My ultimate job since I started my career in 1998 is providing the best end user experience.  Unfortunately that comes with a steep price.  My wish list for an infrastructure component is EMC Extreme I/O all Flash storage for use for our Citrix application delivery.  Unfortunately that is not happening.  VNX 5300 is a great SAN for all lot of the infrastructure needs.  To take advantage of the flash storage in our Citrix environment that is switching Hypervisors from XenServer to VMware $$$, we are also implementing (knock on wood), UCS.  I will be able to leverage the ram cache overflow for the Citrix Provisioning Services to a iSCSI LUN on the EMC VNX 5600, but would it be great to utilize local SSD in the VMware ESXi environment, or better yet an all flash array?

Technology comes with a price and unfortunately we don’t get to implement the technology that in the end, will alleviate the “Slowness complaints” of our Citrix delivered applications,  although anyone that understand technology will know that it all comes down to the application that Citrix delivers and the backend databases and infrastructure that supports the application delivery. Data domain got cut the company’s implementation budget of the VNX 5600. Which means DR panning just became a pain in the ass.
